Peculiar, MO (September 17, 2023) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Cass County left two 16-year-old males with injuries. The crash occurred just after 2:30 p.m. on September 15.
According to reports provided by Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper GA Stineman, a rear-end collision between a 2010 Volvo XC90 and a 2019 Peterbilt 579 occurred on State Route J. The incident prompted authorities to close down the roadway just south of 203rd Street.
The crash resulted in totaling damages for the Volvo, requiring it to be towed from the scene by All City Tow.
Emergency medical services were called to the scene to care for two 16-year-old males who were injured in the crash. One of the victims, who is from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, was transported to St Luke’s East Hospital for emergency care. The second victim, who is from Raymore, Missouri, was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital by South Metro Fire.
The crash is under investigation by MSHP.
