Tom Township, MO (September 7, 2023) – On Wednesday, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an automobile accident that occurred in Benton County.
According to MSHP reports, at around 12:50 p.m. on September 6, a 2008 Ford Taurus was traveling in the area of Missouri State Route 7 and Cedar Grove Road. For unknown reasons, the driver, 82-year-old John Saville of Warsaw, Missouri, turned his vehicle into the path of a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass, which was driven by 61-year-old Dana Hawkins of Warsaw, Missouri.
The two vehicles collided, causing the Oldsmobile to go off the south side of the roadway. Due to the extent of damage, the Oldsmobile had to be towed from the scene.
Hawkins suffered moderate injuries in the accident. He was transported by Warsaw/Lincoln EMS to Golden Valley Hospital for emergency care.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
