Kansas City, MO – Eleven Injured in Major Crash on E 87th St

Kansas City, MO (February 8, 2024) – Nearly a dozen people were injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Raytown area on Sunday afternoon, February 4.

According to reports, a major motor vehicle accident took place on East 87th Street near Raytown Road. The incident prompted authorities to close down the roadway at approximately 1:30 p.m. Authorities located a GMC Acadia and a blue Chevrolet Malibu involved in the accident. The GMC overturned due to the collision while the Chevrolet went off the roadway and struck a tree.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to the scene to assist. Police confirmed that one toddler involved in the accident was ejected. The toddler suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to an area hospital. Two adult victims were critically injured and transported by EMS to area hospitals for emergency treatment. Eight additional victims suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious. The victims were all transported by EMS to an area hospital. The incident is currently under investigation.
