Pleasant Hill, MO – Three Injured in Crash on Route VV near Graham Rd

Pleasant Hill, MO (February 26, 2024) – Three people were transported to area hospitals with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Cass County on Saturday evening, February 24.

At around 11:25 p.m., a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling east on Route VV when it collided head-on with a 2017 GMC Acadia just east of Graham Road. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident. Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately secured the road. Four people were treated for injuries while at the scene.

The victims were identified as 51-year-old David Hatfzeld, 39-year-old Kristen Hatzfeld, and two 17-year-old males. One of the teens refused further treatment. The second teenager was transported to Centerpoint Hospital in Independence, Missouri. Both Kristen Hatzfeld and David Hatzfeld were transported to Lee’s Summit Medical Center for further medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
