Johnson Co., KS (January 12, 2024) – The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed that 63-year-old Russell Pittman of Kansas City, Kansas, was injured as a result of a major multi-vehicle accident that occurred early Thursday morning in Johnson County. The crash was reported by law enforcement at around 6:00 a.m. on January 11.
Reports indicate that Pittman was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado south on US Highway 69 when his vehicle collided with a 2022 Dodge Durango just south of 143rd Street. A 2012 Ford Fusion, driven by 45-year-old Quincy Wiley, collided with the Durango. 60-year-old Bradley Banning of Kansas City, Missouri, was driving a 2022 Chevrolet Bolts on the roadway when his vehicle also collided with the Durango, the Ford, and a 2010 Acura MDX, which 52-year-old Marisela Galvan drove. EMS responded to the scene. Pittman was injured in the crash and transported to Advent Health South for emergency treatment. No other injuries were reported in the crash. Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
