Lee’s Summit, MO (January 11, 2024) – On January 10, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were requested at the scene of a car crash that occurred in Jackson County. The accident was reported at approximately 8:45 a.m. on January 10.
According to reports provided by authorities, a 2017 Chevrolet Sonic collided with a 2023 Chevrolet Volt on the westbound side of Interstate 470 just west of US Highway 50. Both vehicles were severely damaged due to the accident. Both vehicles were severely damaged and had to be removed from the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet Sonic, identified as 62-year-old Gwendolyn Bates of Kansas City, Missouri, was injured. Bates was transported by Lee’s Summit Fire Department to St. Luke’s East Hospital for emergency treatment. The accident is being investigated at this time.
