Nelson, MO (January 9, 2024) – One man was transported to a local hospital with injuries following a car crash in Saline County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified of the crash at around 10:15 a.m. on January 6.
According to reports, a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia crashed into the rear of a 2010 Toyota previous on the westbound side of Interstate 70, Dwight D Eisenhower Highway. The incident caused the Toyota to go off the north side of the roadway, where it collided with an embankment and overturned. The vehicle came to rest on the northbound side of the highway on the driver's side of the vehicle. The driver of the Toyota, identified as 35-year-old Volodymyr Vedenov from Houstonia, Missouri, was injured in the crash. He was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital by Saline County EMS. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
