Lee’s Summit, MO (March 15, 2024) – A woman was transported to an area hospital with injuries following a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Jackson County on Tuesday afternoon, March 12. Authorities were called to the scene of the incident at approximately 12:55 p.m.
According to law enforcement reports, a 2007 Honda CRV was traveling south on Interstate 470 when the driver attempted to change lanes near mile marker 10. As a result, the vehicle collided with a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. Authorities arrived at the scene and immediately shut down the roadway. The Lee’s Summit Police Department went to work quickly on removing the involved vehicles. One person involved in the accident, identified as 77-year-old Marinell Zion of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, was injured. She was transported to St. Luke’s East Hospital for medical care. The accident is being investigated.
