Kansas City, MO (April 29, 2023) - An automobile wreck took place in the Kansas City area on Friday morning that left one person injured. The Kansas City Police Department responded to the scene of an accident at approximately 1130 a.m. on April 28.
According to reports from KCPD, a red Dodge pickup truck was traveling east on Truman Road during the morning hours. For unknown reasons, the vehicle failed to stop at a red light and crashed into a gray Nissan Maxima, which was traveling south on Hardesty Avenue.
The impact of the crash sent the Nissan off the roadway, where it collided with a pedestrian traffic control pole.
The driver of the Dodge ran away from the scene.
The Nissan driver was severely hurt in the accident. The victim was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.
At this time, the police department in Kansas City is investigating the crash.
