Sedalia, MO – Child Killed in UTV Crash on Liberty School Rd

Sedalia, MO (October 24, 2023) – A 4-year-old boy lost his life as a result of an auto accident that occurred in Pettis County. At around 4:30 p.m. on October 22, emergency crews were called to the site of an auto accident on Liberty School Road.

Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2022 CanAm UTV operated by 34-year-old April Headley of Sedalia, Missouri, was traveling in the 25,300 block of the roadway. As the vehicle traveled through a yard, the driver made a sharp left turn, causing the vehicle to overturn.

A 4-year-old male was partially ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officers.

Three other children, identified as a 3-year-old male, a 6-year-old female, and a 7-year-old female, were all injured. The three victims were transported to Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia, Missouri, for emergency care.

At this time, the incident is being investigated.
