Grain Valley, MO (May 4, 2024) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that 20-year-old Christian Lanear of Grain Valley, Missouri, died as a result of a fatal accident that occurred on Wednesday evening in Grain Valley.

At around 4:10 p.m. on May 1, a collision involving a 1999 four Chrysler and a 2019 Ford took place on Jefferson Road at the intersection of Pamela Boulevard. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the crash. The two vehicles had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the Chrysler sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The victim, identified as Lanear, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford, 29-year-old Jacob Petree, was transported to Centerpoint Hospital for emergency treatment. At this time, the crash is under investigation.
