Lee’s Summit, MO (May 7, 2024) – Emergency crews were requested at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Jackson County and left one woman injured. The collision was reported at around 3:30 p.m. on May 3.
According to reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a collision involving a 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck and a 2009 Nissan Rogue occurred on Interstate 470, just west of mile marker 9.2. The impact of the crash left both vehicles severely damaged, requiring them to be towed from the scene. The driver of the Nissan, identified as 74-year-old Karen Tierney, was injured in the accident. She was transported by Lee’s Summit EMS to St. Luke’s East Hospital for medical care. Investigations are currently underway.
