Fatal Car Accidents in Missouri

Every year, hundreds of people in Missouri lose their lives in car accidents, many of which could have been avoided. Some of the most common factors include:

  • Distracted driving: The use of cell phones, texting, eating, or engaging in any activity that takes the driver's attention from the road can lead to fatal accidents. Unfortunately, distracted driving is one of the leading factors in fatal accidents across our state and nation.
  • Impaired driving: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs can significantly increase the chances of a fatal accident taking place. Intoxicated motorists often have impaired judgment, reduced reaction time, and decreased coordination. All of these negative factors increase the likelihood of being involved in a severe accident.
  • Fatigue: Driving while fatigued or drowsy impairs a driver's ability to stay focused and react in time to potential dangers. Falling asleep at the wheel is an extreme consequence of driver fatigue and can result in fatal accidents.
