Car Accidents in Kansas

Auto accidents take place far too often in Kansas. In fact, thousands of people are left injured on a monthly basis as a result of collisions. There are countless instances where people are hurt in crashes that are completely preventable. Unfortunately, nearly nine out of every ten accidents involve some form of negligence or human error. Leading factors in automobile collisions include:

  • Distracted Driving: This includes texting, talking on the phone, eating, or anything that takes a driver's attention from the road. Drivers who are distracted are more likely to miss seeing other vehicles or even pedestrians traveling near them.
  • Impaired Driving: Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs can significantly impact a driver’s judgment and ability to control their vehicle. Impairment makes it difficult for drivers to remain in their own lane and react in time to avoid a collision.
  • Speeding: Driving over the speed limit can significantly reduce a driver's reaction time and increase the severity of accidents. Unfortunately, it can also lead to drivers drifting into nearby lanes and striking other vehicles.
  • Reckless Driving: Aggressive behaviors like frequent lane changes, following too closely, and road rage can lead to dangerous situations and collisions. These aggressive driving actions make it more likely for drivers to lose control of their vehicles.

Due to the negligent or reckless actions of another driver, you may have legal options available. You should reach out to a Kansas City car accident lawyer right away.
