Mt Pleasant Township, MO (May 11, 2024) – Emergency crews were summoned to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Cass County and ended in injuries. The collision occurred at around 3:45 p.m. on May 9.
According to police reports, a silver 2009 Kia Forte and a white 2019 Dodge Charger collided on the southbound side of Route D. The impact of the crash left both vehicles with extensive damage, requiring them to be towed from the scene. Authorities arrived on site and closed off the southbound side of the roadway near Missouri State Highway 58.
Two people involved in the accident were injured. Emergency medical services responded to the scene to render aid to a 16-year-old male and 20-year-old Myranda Kessler. Kessler was transported to Belton Regional Hospital by Kansas City Fire and EMS. The juvenile victim was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital by Central Cass EMS.
