Retain an Johnson County Theft Crimes Attorney

Robbery is when you take something from someone by force or threat and is different than theft due to the threat or harm caused. If you have been accused of robbery, contact an Johnson County criminal defense lawyer from Martin & Wallentine, LLC today.

Robbery as Defined by Kansas State Laws

K.S.A. § 21-5420 defines robbery as "knowingly taking property from the person or presence of another by force or threat of bodily harm to any person." Robbery is a severity level 3, person felony and is punishable by a fine of up to $300,000 and a jail sentence of up to 55 months. The offense is considered to be aggravated, however, when a dangerous weapon is brandished or used during the robbery. As such, it is punishable by up to 100 months in jail and the same fine.
