Peculiar Township, MO (May 25, 2023) – Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that 24-year-old Trysten Daum and 50-year-old Kirt Daum lost their lives as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred on Wednesday morning in Cass County.
At around 6:25 a.m. on May 24, troopers were notified that they were needed on-site at a crash on Missouri State Route 291.
Reports from authorities indicate that a 2006 GMC Yukon crossed over the center lines and struck a 2023 Hyundai Elantra on Missouri State Route 291 near South Home Farm Road.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as Kurt Daum, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of his injuries. His passenger, Trysten Daum, was rushed to Cass Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased from her injuries.
The driver of the GMC, 41-year-old Douglas Robinson, was rushed to Belton Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
