Rayville, MO (June 8, 2024) – Emergency crews were summoned to assist at the scene of a car crash in Ray County. The collision was reported to authorities at around 245 p.m. on June 6.
Official reports indicate that a 2020 Freightliner pulled into Highway U from a private Drive located in the area near Beamer Road. As the truck entered the roadway, it collided with a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup truck. The vehicles were both significantly damaged as a result of the accident. The GMC had to be towed from the scene. A passenger in the GMC, identified as 69-year-old Steven Hamerle, was injured in the crash. He was transported to Ray County Memorial Hospital for medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
